A division of the Treasury

The Royal Reserve

The Royal Reserve issues Equidium, safeguards the US dollar reserves that stand behind it, and licenses the financial houses of the realm.

What the Reserve does

Three duties, one standard

As a division of the Department of the Treasury, the Royal Reserve carries out the Kingdom’s currency responsibilities with the same discipline applied to all public finances.

Issuing Equidium

The Royal Reserve issues Equidium (EQD), the currency of the Kingdom, into circulation against US dollars received into the reserve.

Holding the reserves

US dollar reserves are held by the Royal Reserve on behalf of the Kingdom and are recorded in full on the public ledger.

Licensing financial houses

Financial houses operating in Equitaria are licensed and supervised by the Royal Reserve under Treasury authority.

The full-backing rule

Every Equidium, fully backed

The Royal Reserve operates under a simple, unbreakable rule: every Equidium in circulation is backed by one US dollar held in reserve.

  • Equidium is issued only when an equivalent amount of US dollars has been received into the reserve.
  • The reserve can never issue more Equidium than the US dollars it holds.
  • Reserves and circulation are published live on the transparency page, so anyone can verify the backing at any time.
